III C Nutrition Services |

The Senior Meals Program provides
persons 60 years and older nutritious meals served at several
locations throughout Fresno and Madera counties, Monday through
Friday. For those who are homebound due to illness or disability,
and who lack family support, there is also a home-delivered
meals program.
There are two home-delivered meals programs available for
those who are eligible. Seniors may receive a single delivery
once each week which includes seven light breakfasts, seven
frozen entrees, bread, milk and fruit, or a senior may receive
a hot noon time meal delivered Monday through Friday only.
Eligibility for the home-delivered program and for type of
delivery (hot or frozen) will be based on geographic location
and specific eligibility criteria.

Congregate Meals (Title III C-1)
- Seniors attend dining sites throughout Fresno
and Madera counties where they receive a nutritionally
balanced hot lunch, Monday through Friday. Transportation
to meal sites is available in many locations.

five days a week or frozen delivery of seven meals and
seven breakfasts once a week for seniors 60 years and
older meeting eligibility criteria. Criteria consists
of need, availability of family support, ability to
shop or cook for themselves.

What is the cost for meals?
Although the "suggested" senior contribution
for the meals varies among the sites, it is usually
$1.50 for dining center meals and $1.75 per day for
home- delivered meals. Contributions for the meals are
confidential and seniors will not be denied service
due to an inability to pay the full suggested contribution.
