The Advisory Council plays an important role in the Agency on Aging’s planning process. Council members stay informed and provide input on issues in their communities that impact older residents, help gather information to identify the needs and priorities of older adults, conduct public hearings to obtain input on the agency’s four-year plan and annual updates, and serve as a key link between the Agency on Aging and the people we serve.
There are 21 seats on the Advisory Council, with Fresno County, Madera County, and Fresno City, each represented by seven members. Members are appointed by our Governing Board and serve three-year terms.
We are currently seeking Advisory Council members who represent the rich diversity of our area’s older adult population. Please plan to attend our next meeting to learn more about the council, and complete an application for membership. We look forward to meeting you.
