Emergency Preparedness

Floods, fires, power outages–if an emergency strikes today, do you have the supplies you’ll need to take care of yourself until help arrives?

Basic Emergency Supplies

  • Water-at least 1 gallon per person per day for at least 3 days
  • Food that won’t spoil and doesn’t need to be cooked
  • Can opener (manual), paper plates, plastic utensils
  • Medications, prescription and non-prescription
  • File of LifeĀ© listing medications and emergency contacts
  • First aid kit
  • Battery-powered radio with extra batteries
  • Flashlight and extra batteries
  • Light sticks (also known as glow sticks)
  • Extra pet food and water for pets
